He can only take a few steps right now, but he definitely is crawling. He has a very distinctive method of getting objects he wants that are out of reach. He will crawl a few steps and then do a dive to reach for the item he wants. hahah! Thomas also does this funny thing now, where he says "Oh." or "buh" all the time. This is a video of him doing that. We think it is so cute! Here's a video of him crawling and saying "buh:"
Thomas also got 4 teeth on top over the last couple weeks! Two have come in the last two week and 2 are almost through. Poor little guy- getting 4 teeth at the same time!!!
We've had some crazy weather the past two weeks with temperature ranging between single digits to 43 degrees, with an snow/ice storm in the middle! Spring is coming though, I keep assuring myself!
The kids had a lot of fun playing outside in the melting snow ice outside during a few of the warm days. They went sledding with Daddy one day. Then another day they made up a funny game where they march/run/walk toward this icy patch and slip and fall down on purpose. It was pretty funny to watch. Here are some pics of some of the outdoor fun:
Philip is really blessed musically, I think. Here is a video of him singing the "months of the year" song, except that he always leaves out February... which kind of defeats the purpose of the song, but it's still fun for us to hear him sing it. :) He also calls them "Mumps of the year" instead of months sometimes which we think is hilarious!!!
Here is a video of him (in his PJs) picking out a song by ear on the piano that he heard on "Backyardigans" at my parents house... You can see how he shakes his head when it doesn't sound right. He also played it on Thomas' xylophone. I think this is pretty neat for a 3 year old to be doing!!
Philip is also suddenly taking a lot of interest in trying to read. He seems to be starting to understand how to put the letter sounds together to make words. We are starting to do simple 3 letter, short vowel word reading with him. It's been fun!
Mary also has been very good about practicing her piano and enjoying playing the piano. I think she's finally ready to really start consistent lessons and practicing! I will try to get a video of her playing tomorrow and post that. I also recently discover this awesome drawing instruction book from Catholic Heritage Curriculum. Mary's really been enjoying drawing using this book. Here are some of the artwork Mary's done with that. We have been using this along with Art 1 for Young Catholics from Seton.
Mary loves to do crafts, and she really liked the St. Patrick puppet she made at CoOp on Friday. She has been playing with it all weekend with Philip.
